Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer agreed to a Spectrum News debate with his Republican challenger Joseph Pinion on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.

Schumer, who began his tenure as majority leader in 2021, is seeking his fifth term in the U.S. Senate. Pinion is a former Newsmax host and is the Republican and Conservative parties nominee to take on Schumer, becoming the first Black person to receive a major party's nomination for Senate in New York.

The candidates for state comptroller, incumbent Tom DiNapoli and his Republican challenger Paul Rodríguez will also participate in a Spectrum News debate on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. DiNapoli has served since 2007 and is seeking a fifth term in office.

"Inside City Hall" host Errol Louis and "Capital Tonight" host Susan Arbetter will moderate both debates, which will air statewide and be available on the Spectrum News app without a paywall.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8 and early voting begins Saturday, Oct. 29.
